Harkaye Core Talent is exclusively supporting a leading international disputes practice in the search for an outstanding Senior Associate to join its highly regarded Commercial and Investment Arbitration team. This opportunity is ideal for an ambitious arbitration lawyer with significant experience handling complex international commercial arbitration and investment treaty disputes. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing high-value, cross-border matters while working closely with partners on strategic client relationships and business development initiatives.

The Role

  • Acting on complex international commercial arbitrations under major institutional rules, including ICC, LCIA, SIAC, HKIAC and UNCITRAL.
  • Advising on investor-state disputes and investment treaty arbitrations.
  • Managing all stages of arbitration proceedings from inception through to award and enforcement.
  • Leading the preparation of pleadings, memorials, witness statements, expert evidence and hearing bundles.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior associates within the team.
  • Working directly with clients, experts, co-counsel and tribunals across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Supporting business development, thought leadership and client relationship management initiatives.
  • Advising on enforcement actions and arbitration-related court proceedings before the English courts.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualification as a Solicitor of England & Wales.
  • 7–8 years' post-qualification experience (PQE) gained within a leading international arbitration or disputes practice.
  • Strong experience handling international commercial arbitration matters.
  • Significant exposure to investment treaty arbitration and investor-state disputes.
  • Experience managing substantial workstreams and taking responsibility for key aspects of complex cases.
  • Exceptional drafting, advocacy support and analytical skills.
  • Strong client management and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • A commercial mindset and interest in business development activities.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
