You will play a key role in supervising and developing a team of solicitors, fee earners, and support staff, while continuing to handle a reduced caseload of complex and sensitive matters. The successful candidate will help shape the future direction of the team, ensuring excellent client service, strong operational performance, and compliance with Legal Aid and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, motivate, and support a team of solicitors, fee earners, and support staff
- Conduct regular supervision meetings, performance reviews, and coaching sessions
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of team members
- Case & Client Management
- Maintain a reduced caseload of Claims Against Public Authorities matters
- Deliver high-quality legal advice and representation to vulnerable clients
- Ensure cases are progressed efficiently and in line with best practice standards
- Handle complaints and risk management matters professionally and effectively
- Compliance & Operational Oversight
- Ensure compliance with Legal Aid Agency requirements and SRA regulations
- Monitor performance targets, billing, and operational KPIs
- Assist with departmental planning, forecasting, and reporting
- Contribute to business development initiatives and profile-raising activities

Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor (Grade A or equivalent experience)
- Accredited Legal Aid Supervisor status for CAPA work
