About the Role

We are currently instructed on behalf of a highly regarded national law firm seeking an experienced solicitor to join its specialist Public Law team. In this role, you will manage a varied caseload of:

  • Public law judicial review claims
  • Community care judicial reviews
  • Claims against public authorities
  • Inquests

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team undertaking complex and meaningful work on behalf of vulnerable clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a mixed caseload of public law matters from pre-action stage through to final hearing.
  • Manage legally aided matters and ensure compliance with Legal Aid Agency requirements.
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing referrers and develop new referral sources.
  • Meet billing, utilisation and performance targets.
  • Ensure compliance with client care, anti-money laundering, GDPR and other regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver exceptional client service, particularly when supporting vulnerable clients.

Experience and Attributes Required

  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
  • Proven experience handling public law judicial review matters.
  • Experience in community care judicial reviews and/or claims against public authorities.
  • Experience managing publicly funded matters and a strong understanding of Legal Aid.
  • Excellent client care skills.
  • Ability to work empathetically and effectively with vulnerable clients.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
