About the Opportunity

Harkaye Core Talent is recruiting for a Property & Affairs Solicitor to join a specialist Court of Protection / Private Client team. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and rewarding matters, supporting vulnerable clients and their families with financial decision-making, asset management, and long-term planning.

The Role

You will manage your own caseload of Property & Affairs Court of Protection matters, delivering high-quality advice with sensitivity and professionalism.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing Property & Affairs Court of Protection cases from instruction to conclusion
  • Acting as professional deputy or supporting deputyship appointments
  • Preparing and submitting deputyship applications and supporting documentation
  • Advising on financial management, trusts, and asset protection
  • Liaising with clients, families, OPG, banks, and third parties
  • Preparing annual reports and accounts for the Office of the Public Guardian
  • Ensuring compliance with Mental Capacity Act requirements and best practice
  • Maintaining excellent standards of client care and file management

About You

You will:

  • Be a qualified solicitor in England & Wales
  • Have experience in Property & Affairs / Court of Protection / Private Client work
  • Have a solid understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
  • Be confident managing sensitive matters involving vulnerable clients
  • Have strong organisational and financial awareness
  • Be an empathetic communicator with excellent attention to detail

Experience acting as a professional deputy, or handling complex assets or high-value estates, would be advantageous.
