Harkaye Core Talent is recruiting for an experienced Military Solicitor to join a specialist practice acting for current and former members of the Armed Forces and their families. This role offers the opportunity to work on highly meaningful, often complex cases, providing legal advice and representation to service personnel in matters that can have life-changing consequences.

The Role

  • You will manage a varied caseload of military and service-related claims, delivering expert legal advice with professionalism, discretion, and sensitivity.
  • Advising serving and former Armed Forces personnel on military-related legal matters.
  • Managing claims relating to military injury, negligence, inquests, and compensation schemes.
  • Acting in cases involving the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS) and War Pension Scheme.
  • Representing clients in hearings, appeals, and tribunals where required.
  • Drafting legal submissions, witness statements, and supporting documentation.
  • Liaising with the Ministry of Defence, medical experts, and counsel.
  • Providing clear, empathetic advice to clients and their families.
  • Maintaining high standards of client care and compliance.

About You

  • You will be a qualified solicitor in England & Wales.
  • Have experience in military law, or a closely related area such as personal injury, public law, or inquests.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of AFCS / War Pension Scheme processes.
  • Be confident managing sensitive and complex cases.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Show a genuine commitment to supporting Armed Forces personnel.
  • Previous experience acting for service personnel, veterans, or within military-focused practices will be highly advantageous.
