We are proud to be partnering with an established law firm in the rarest of opportunities for an experienced Court of Protection Solicitor to join its Property & Financial Affairs team. This role presents the opportunity for an ambitious Associate or Senior Associate to take on significant responsibility within an established practice, with genuine scope to influence its direction and progress into a departmental leadership role.

The Role

You will manage a varied caseload of Property & Financial Affairs deputyships, supporting clients with complex needs, including those with acquired brain injuries and other capacity-related impairments. The work includes:

  • Managing substantial client funds and assets
  • OPG reporting and deputyship administration
  • Property purchases, adaptations and building projects
  • Budgeting and financial management
  • Working with families, case managers, financial advisers and other professionals
  • Close collaboration with the firm's Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury teams

The Opportunity

This is more than a conventional fee-earning role. You will join an established team with an existing client base and experienced colleagues, but will have the opportunity to:

  • Take ownership of the department's day-to-day work
  • Develop and mentor colleagues
  • Improve systems, processes and workflows
  • Influence future team structure and recruitment
  • Help shape the longer-term growth of the practice
  • Progress towards departmental leadership / Head of Court of Protection

The firm is looking for someone who can build on what already works, rather than simply impose change.

About You

You will have strong and recent Property & Financial Affairs deputyship experience, together with sound knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act, Court of Protection framework and OPG requirements. You'll also bring excellent client care, organisation and communication skills and ideally experience supporting clients with acquired brain injuries or other complex needs. Most importantly, you'll be empathetic, collaborative, commercially aware and comfortable with autonomy and responsibility.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • An established practice
  • An existing client base
  • Genuine autonomy
  • A credible route into leadership.

If you're looking for a role where your judgement genuinely counts and you can help shape the future of a Court of Protection team, I'd be very interested in speaking with you confidentially.
