Costs Lawyer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Costs Lawyer / Law Costs Draftsperson to join a leading and highly regarded law firm based in Sheffield.

As a Costs Lawyer / Law Costs Draftsperson, you will be responsible for the preparation and litigation of Bills of Costs, including advocacy and client engagement.

Job Title: Costs Lawyer / Law Costs Draftsperson

Location: Sheffield Hybrid working available

Salary: Competitive DOE

You will be required to have a minimum of 2 years\’ experience in law costs.

Responsibilities:

1. Preparation of Bills of Costs for Detailed and Provisional Assessment.
2. Litigation of costs claims through the Court process, including potential advocacy (as required and agreed).
3. Engaging directly with clients to provide advice, take instructions, and manage expectations throughout the case.
4. Offering technical support and guidance to fee earners and other internal stakeholders. Assisting in the training and mentoring of junior team members.
5. Maintaining accurate time recording and case management using in-house IT systems.
6. Working flexibly to meet changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
