A highly regarded claimant clinical negligence practice in Bournemouth is continuing to expand its specialist team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Senior Associate to join a leading Clinical Negligence department handling complex, high-value cases, with a particular focus on cerebral palsy, birth injury, brain injury, and catastrophic injury litigation.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing significant litigation while also contributing to the strategic growth of the department through business development, networking, and relationship building.
The Role
- Manage a caseload of complex, high-value clinical negligence claims from inception through to settlement or trial.
- Specialise in cerebral palsy, birth injury, brain injury, and catastrophic injury matters.
- Work closely with leading medical experts, barristers, and rehabilitation professionals.
- Advise clients and their families with empathy and professionalism throughout the litigation process.
- Supervise and mentor junior fee earners and support staff.
- Develop and maintain strong referrer relationships.
- Represent the firm at networking events, conferences, and industry forums.
- Contribute to marketing initiatives, thought leadership articles, and business development strategies.
- Support the continued growth and success of the Clinical Negligence team.
About You
- 8+ years PQE within claimant clinical negligence.
- Proven experience handling high-value clinical negligence matters.
- Strong expertise in cerebral palsy, birth injury, obstetric negligence, brain injury, or other catastrophic injury claims.
- Excellent litigation and advocacy skills.
- Outstanding client care and relationship management abilities.
- A commercial mindset with a genuine interest in business development.
- Experience supervising junior lawyers and supporting team growth.
- Membership of specialist panels such as APIL or Law Society Clinical Negligence Accreditation would be advantageous.
