A super opportunity has arisen for an experienced Real Estate Dispute Resolution lawyer at Senior Associate or Legal Director level to join the growing property team of a highly regarded national law firm.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded property litigator looking to work on a broad range of complex and high-quality disputes, with the opportunity to develop their client relationships, profile and career within an ambitious and supportive team.
The firm has a strong presence across the UK and is continuing to invest in its Real Estate practice. The successful candidate will join a specialist Dispute Resolution team advising a diverse range of commercial clients, including developers, housebuilders, investors, landlords and tenants.
The role
You will have the opportunity to manage a varied caseload of contentious real estate matters, while working alongside experienced senior lawyers on more complex disputes and ADR.
The work is likely to include:
- Landlord and tenant disputes, including lease renewals, dilapidations and forfeiture.
- Development-related disputes, including restrictive covenants, rights of light and boundary disputes.
- Possession claims, trespass and other property-related litigation.
- Property insolvency and enforcement matters.
- County Court and First-tier Tribunal proceedings.
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements and instructions to counsel.
- Advising clients throughout the lifecycle of a dispute and attending hearings, mediations and client meetings.
- Supporting on more complex litigation and alternative dispute resolution matters.
There will also be the opportunity to get involved in business development, client relationship management, training and mentoring, making this a role with plenty of scope to develop your wider profile within the practice.
The ideal candidate
The firm is looking for a solicitor with a strong background in commercial real estate dispute resolution, ideally with 5+ years' PQE.
Of particular interest will be candidates who have experience advising or acting for developers and housebuilders, although experience across the wider commercial property sector will also be considered.
You will ideally have:
- A strong track record in commercial property litigation/dispute resolution.
- Experience of handling your own caseload with a good degree of autonomy.
- Strong technical knowledge across a range of contentious property matters.
- Experience of County Court and/or First-tier Tribunal proceedings.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
- A commercially focused approach and the ability to provide practical, solutions-led advice.
- An interest in developing client relationships and contributing to business development.
- The ability to work collaboratively while taking ownership of your own matters.
