We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading law firm seeking an experienced Family Paralegal or Newly Qualified Solicitor to join their established family law team. The successful candidate will assist on cases involving divorce, matrimonial finance, nuptial agreements, cohabitee disputes, children matters, injunctions and complex issues for medium to high-net-worth clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle initial telephone and in-person enquiries, conduct conflict checks and arrange appointments.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date case files and communicate messages promptly to Fee Earners.
- Build strong and trusted relationships with clients.
- Prepare trial and court bundles, upload/download papers from Court Portals and monitor for updates.
- Contact Courts for information and assist during hearings, including attending Court with Counsel.
- Arrange conferences with Counsel, Fee Earners and clients, including MS Teams appointments.
- Attend meetings and take detailed notes on complex matters.
- Process payments, scan documents, handle old file management and ensure compliance with document retention procedures.
About you:
- You will have previous experience working as a Family Paralegal or Fee Earner, ideally with experience of running your own small caseload.
- Experience working with Proclaim would be an advantage however not essential.
- Strong self-motivation and the ability to work proactively.
- Excellent time management with accurate time recording.
- Empathetic and proactive when responding to urgent client queries.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to multitask and prioritise under deadlines.
