Our client, a leading law firm, is seeking an experienced Housing Disrepair Lawyer to join their expanding department. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven legal professional to manage their own caseload, deliver outstanding client service, and achieve strong legal outcomes on behalf of tenants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a full caseload of Housing Disrepair matters from instruction to completion.
- Conduct legal research and provide clear, accurate advice to clients.
- Draft pleadings, witness statements, correspondence, and other key documents.
- Negotiate settlements and represent clients in hearings where required.
- Handle litigation from pre-action through to trial, including liaising with defendants, experts, and opposing solicitors.
- Assess liability and quantum, obtain expert evidence, and prepare schedules of loss.
- Attend hearings, mediations, and settlement meetings as needed.
- Use case management systems and digital workflows efficiently (Proclaim experience advantageous).
- Support and supervise a small sub-team where required.
- Stay up to date on relevant case law, legislation, and procedural developments.
Person Specification:
- Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Fee Earner with 2 years+ experience.
- Strong background in housing disrepair or civil litigation.
- Excellent knowledge of pre-action protocols, CPR, and evidential requirements.
- Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience running litigated files from start to finish.
- Resilient, proactive, and results-driven.
