Are you an exceptional SEND teacher looking for a role where you can genuinely transform young people's futures? We are seeking a passionate, skilled and creative SEND Lecturer to join our highly inclusive and ambitious Pre‑Supported Internship Programme for young adults aged 18‑25 with Education, Health and Care Plans. This unique opportunity supports students as they prepare for adulthood and the world of work.
Learners attend college four days a week and spend one day in supported work experience, developing independence, employability and confidence within real workplace environments. You will work with an inspiring cohort of young adults with a wide range of needs, including autism, Down syndrome, moderate and severe learning difficulties, communication needs and complex learning profiles. The role requires someone who believes passionately in inclusion, holds high aspirations and prepares learners for meaningful adult lives. Every day brings a new challenge – teaching employability skills, delivering travel training or preparing for work, supporting students in workplace settings, developing personalised curriculum content, or celebrating a learner achieving something they never thought possible.
Qualifications
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has strong experience teaching learners with SEND aged 16‑25
- Understands the needs of learners with autism, learning disabilities and complex SEND profiles
- Is confident in curriculum design, differentiation and creative delivery
- Has high expectations alongside warmth, patience and flexibility
- Has an excellent sense of humour and enjoys working as part of a close, supportive team
- Can build positive relationships with students, families and employers
- Has experience delivering Functional Skills English and Maths (desirable)
