About the role

We are seeking an organised and friendly Nursery Administrator/Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our centre. You will play a key role in creating a welcoming environment for parents, carers, children, and visitors, while ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day running of the office. Responsibilities include managing calls and enquiries, maintaining records and databases, supporting bookings and events, and providing essential administrative support to the wider team.

You will be joining a supportive and collaborative team within Children’s Services, working in a busy and community‑focused environment. The team is committed to delivering high‑quality services to families and children, and you will be an integral part of ensuring operations run efficiently. You will work closely with colleagues across the centre, contributing to a positive, professional, and well‑organised service for all users.

About you

You will have experience in administration and working with the public, alongside excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You are confident using IT systems, highly organised, and able to prioritise a varied workload effectively. A flexible, “can‑do” approach is essential, as well as the ability to work as part of a team and handle sensitive information with confidentiality and care. You take pride in delivering excellent customer service and creating a positive experience for everyone you interact with.
