About the Role
As a Newly Qualified Social Worker you can expect high quality support during your Assessed and Supported Year of Employment (ASYE). In Haringey we believe in growing and nurturing our Newly Qualified Social Workers, by providing a programme of tailored support to ensure that you feel confident in your practice and well cared for within the organisation. This includes regular peer‑group learning sessions, supervision and guidance from your team‑based assessor and mentor; a varied and interesting caseload; regular feedback on your practice and access to a range of resources and training via our Haringey Children’s Academy. Haringey are proud of our focus on evidence‑based research in practice and have a range of tools available for practitioners.

About You
We are looking for a Newly Qualified Social Worker who is passionate about working collaboratively with families and young people in a relational and empathetic way. You must have a commitment to direct work and advocating for children and young people and a willingness to learn and accept feedback constructively. As an NQSW in Haringey you should be a positive communicator who can collaborate, influence and challenge with excellent verbal and written skills. You will have the opportunity to develop knowledge of the research, legislation and statutory responsibilities that underpin Children’s Social Care, and be able to work to a high standard, meet deadlines and contribute to a learning culture within your team. You will be proactive in building on your previous learning and experience. Some experience in children’s social care would be an advantage. Most importantly we are looking for someone who has an unwavering passion for social work, the vision and drive to change outcomes for children, young people and their families, and the skills to be part of a team that inspires and supports stakeholders. Candidates must hold a relevant Social Work qualification and, in order to qualify for the ASYE programme, Social Work England registration must be in place before a start date can be provided.
