About the role:

Haringey Council is looking for an enthusiastic and qualified Swimming Teacher to join our Leisure Services team. In this rewarding role, you will deliver high-quality swimming lessons across a variety of aquatic programmes, including the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework (Stages 1-7), pre-school lessons, school swimming sessions, and specialist programmes. You will inspire learners of all ages and abilities, helping them build confidence, develop life-saving skills, and achieve their swimming goals in a safe and inclusive environment.

About the team:

You will become part of a dedicated and supportive swimming teaching team within Haringey’s Environment and Resident Experience Directorate. Based primarily at Park Road Leisure Centre and Lido and Tottenham Green Leisure Centre, the team works closely with schools, community groups, and Haringey Aquatics to provide a diverse swimming offer for local residents. Together, the team is committed to delivering outstanding customer service, promoting participation, and creating opportunities for children and adults from all backgrounds to enjoy the benefits of swimming.

About you:

You will hold a Level 2 Swim England Teaching Qualification (or equivalent) and have a strong understanding of the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme. Passionate about teaching and customer service, you will be confident working with children, adults, parents, and carers, providing constructive feedback and creating a positive learning environment. You will be a team player with excellent communication skills, a commitment to safeguarding and health and safety, and the flexibility to work evenings and weekends to meet community demand. Additional aquatic qualifications, a valid NPLQ, or a National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches would be advantageous.
