The NCL Clinical Pharmacy Ambassador role supports workforce development, planning and education of primary care pharmacy professions across the five boroughs in North Central London: Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, and Islington. This senior post will contribute to and deliver a range of priorities to ensure the continued professional development of primary care pharmacy teams, including reviewing and developing peer and professional support networks, and education and training opportunities to support recruitment and retention of NCL pharmacy workforce.

The role will work from the training hub perspective to support PCN pharmacy teams and will not duplicate the roles and responsibilities of the NCL ICB Medicines Management Team deliverables. The postholder will work closely with a number of key stakeholders such as GP employers and Federations, borough PCN Pharmacy teams, NCL Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Medicines Management Teams, pharmacy lead colleagues in acute/mental health/community trust/community pharmacy sectors within the Integrated Care System (ICS) and Neighbourhoods, NCL and Borough Training Hubs, health education institutes (HEIs), NHS England.

Main duties of the job include:

  • Work with the NCL Training Hub, Programme Director, borough Training Hub Programme Managers, and NCL Pharmacy Leads to develop and deliver projects that support the effective integration of pharmacy professionals into the primary care workforce.
  • Provide education, training, and advice to employers to support integrated pharmacy roles across primary and secondary care settings, including urgent, acute, and emergency care, Integrated neighbourhoods, and promote the development of pharmacy professionals within primary care.
  • Provide oversight and professional support to GP supervisors of clinical pharmacists.
