Job summary

Job Title: GP Clinical Lead

Hours of work: 1 session / 1 day per week on a Thursday (08:50 – 13:00)

Remuneration: £10,500 – £11,000 per session per annum dependent on experience

Contract length: 12 Months (fixed term)

Responsible to: Associate Medical Director / Medical Director

Accountable to: Director of Operations

Location: Haringey GP Federation Offices (48 Station Road, Wood Green, London, N22 7TY)

Main duties of the job

The Grove service works to deliver the key objectives: completing health assessments for patients, updating the primary care records of substance misuse medication (medication reconciliation), educating patients on the importance of routine checks, educating patients on using mainstream primary care services, and bridging the gap between community services and primary care.

Job responsibilities
Primary Roles:

  1. To provide 1 clinical leadership session for the service once a week on a Thursday
  2. To lead the growth and development of the service from a clinical perspective
  3. To line manage, support and develop clinicians within the team

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. To provide clinical leadership within the service to support successful delivery and management
  2. Provide clinical quality assurance of materials, policies and procedures for service delivery
  3. Supporting current clinicians within the service with scheduled 121s and personal development plans
  4. Support any recruitment needs for clinicians within the service
  5. To work with the Medical Directorate and Operational leads on long term service planning, development and improvement
  6. To provide clinical support and guidance to non-health care workers attending regular MDTs
  7. To represent the federation within the community, advocating for Health Inclusion work supporting the drug dependent population in Haringey
  8. To lead on clinical safety and governance for the service
  9. To investigate significant events, complaints or concerns within the service
  10. To complete regular clinical audits for the purposes of maintaining clinical safety and best practice

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential

  • Registered GP regularly providing 3+ sessions of Primary Care within North Central London
  • DBS clearance
  • Current and valid GMC certification
  • Basic Life Support

Desirable

  • Registered GP regularly providing 3+ sessions of Primary Care in Haringey

Experience
Essential

  • Ability to work well with colleagues and within a team
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively
  • Ability to exercise sound clinical and professional judgements when faced with conflicting pressures
  • Proficient in use of EMIS
  • Confident in use of email/Outlook and Microsoft office applications
  • Excellent record keeping skills
