About the Role
This role is part of London Borough of Culture Haringey 2027. We are seeking a proactive, organised and creative Marketing Coordinator to support the delivery of marketing and communications activity as we prepare for Haringey's London Borough of Culture year in 2027. This is a hands-on role at a formative stage of the programme, focused on building strong communications foundations ahead of the full programme launch. The Marketing Coordinator will support the Interim Head of Communications and Engagement to deliver priority elements of the communications strategy, including the interim website, newsletters, content coordination, community communications and early audience engagement. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working across content, coordination and delivery, and who is passionate about culture, place and community-led storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
- Marketing & Communications Delivery
- Support delivery of the London Borough of Culture communications strategy, with a focus on early-stage activity and infrastructure.
- Coordinate content for the interim LBoC website, including drafting, editing and uploading content across pages such as About, News, Jobs, Grants and Local Spotlights.
- Support the delivery of early digital content across newsletters and social media channels in line with agreed messaging.
- Assist with preparing communications materials including copy, basic visuals, briefings and updates for different audiences.
- Ensure marketing activity reflects the values of accessibility, inclusion and community representation.
- Website, CRM & Digital Coordination
- Work with the Acting Head of Comms and appointed agencies to populate and maintain the interim website.
- Support the set-up and management of newsletter sign-up forms and CRM integration, ensuring GDPR-compliant data capture.
- Assist with basic analytics tracking (website traffic, newsletter growth, engagement trends).
- Manage and maintain content schedules and calendars.
- Community & Stakeholder Communications
- Support communications for community programmes including grants, commissions and local spotlights.
- Coordinate simple comms toolkits and templates for grassroots organisations and artists (e.g. social copy, press templates).
- Help maintain stakeholder contact lists and mailing groups for artists, community organisations, schools and partners.
- Support outreach communications with underrepresented communities in collaboration with council and programme teams.
- Internal Communications & Coordination
- Support internal communications with Haringey Council teams, including drafting updates for staff channels where required.
- Assist with preparing briefing notes and updates for councillors and senior stakeholders.
- Coordinate information flows between the LBoC programme team, council communications and delivery partners.
- PR & Media Support
- Support early-stage media activity by coordinating assets (images, copy, quotes) for announcements.
- Maintain a simple log of press enquiries, coverage and upcoming opportunities.
- Assist with preparation of content for press releases and briefings, working with Council Press Office.
- Project Coordination & Administration
- Support planning and coordination of communications tasks across multiple workstreams.
- Maintain shared folders, content libraries and version-controlled documents.
- Track actions and deadlines to ensure marketing outputs are delivered on time.
- Support meetings, workshops and engagement activity where needed.
About You

Essential Skills and Experience
- Experience in a marketing, communications or coordination role (minimum 1 – 2 years).
- Strong written communication skills, with experience drafting content for digital platforms.
- Experience working with websites or CMS platforms (e.g. WordPress or similar).
- Confidence using digital tools including Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar).
- Experience supporting newsletters, mailing lists or CRM systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Desirable
- Experience working in arts, culture, charity or public sector organisations.
- Experience supporting community-led or participatory programmes.
- Basic understanding of analytics, evaluation or audience data.
- Experience working in a start-up or new organisational environment.
