About The Role
As a Team Leader at Conway House, you will play a key role in leading the delivery of high‑quality short‑breaks care for children and young people aged 8–18 with additional needs. You will take responsibility for coordinating and leading shifts, ensuring a safe, structured and supportive environment where children can thrive. Working within Children’s Homes Regulations and best practice standards, you will oversee care delivery, implement behaviour and support plans, manage incidents, and ensure that routines, activities and transitions run smoothly. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will support both operational delivery and staff performance, ensuring consistently high standards of care and safeguarding.

You will be part of a supportive, friendly and dedicated team who are passionate about delivering high‑quality short breaks for children with additional needs. The team works closely together to create a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment, where children can enjoy their stay and families feel confident in the care provided. At Conway House, we value teamwork, respect and open communication. Staff support each other on shift, share knowledge and experiences, and work collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes for children. We are committed to ongoing learning and development, and provide regular training, supervision and opportunities to build your skills and confidence in the role.
About You
You will be an experienced and confident practitioner with a background in supporting children or young people with SEND or complex needs, ideally within a residential or respite setting. You will have strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide and support staff while maintaining a calm and organised approach during busy or challenging situations. With a solid understanding of safeguarding, behaviour support and child‑centred practice, you will be able to build positive relationships with children, families and professionals. You will also be flexible, resilient and committed to delivering high‑quality care, with a passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.
