About Haringey

Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.

About The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and qualified Swimming Teacher to join our Leisure Services team. In this rewarding role, you will deliver high-quality swimming lessons across a range of aquatic programmes, including the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework, pre-school classes, adult lessons, school swimming sessions and specialist programmes. You will play a vital role in helping children and adults build confidence in the water, develop their skills and achieve their swimming goals in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment.

About The Team

Our Leisure Services team is passionate about improving health, wellbeing and physical activity across the borough. Based primarily at Park Road Leisure Centre and Lido and Tottenham Green Leisure Centre, the team delivers a wide range of aquatic activities designed to meet the needs of our diverse community. Working alongside experienced colleagues, you will help provide an inclusive swimming programme that supports children, adults, people with disabilities and local schools, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of swimming.

About You

You will hold a Level 2 Swim England qualification (or equivalent) and have a strong understanding of the Swim England Learn to Swim programme. You will be a confident communicator who enjoys working with people of all ages and abilities, providing constructive feedback and exceptional customer service. With a positive, flexible and proactive approach, you will be committed to safeguarding, health and safety, and delivering an outstanding experience for every participant. Evening and weekend working will form part of this role, reflecting the needs of our thriving swimming programme.
