About the Role
- Plan checking and site inspections across the borough and surrounding area.
- Mentor and supervise junior staff, handle validations, and lead complex Building Regulations applications.
- Enforcement activities and dangerous structure inspections during the day and as part of an out‑of‑hours rota.
- Provide technical safety advice and inspections for sports grounds and licensed events.
- Assist the BSR with high‑risk building applications and ensure KPIs are met.
- Contribute to the implementation of the new Building Safety regime.
About You
- Registered with the Building Safety Regulator, minimum Class 2F (Class 3F preferred).
- Degree level or equivalent learning in a relevant subject.
- Member of a professional body such as RICS, ABE, CABE, or CIOB.
- Strong understanding of building regulations and processes.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and technical information.
- Experience in delivering and supervising building control services.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with strong negotiation and influence abilities.
