A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture. Our history champions change‑makers and everyday rebels; reveling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive manager to lead the delivery of specialist planned works arising from responsive repairs activity. You will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and statutory compliance. The role involves managing an in‑house team of trades alongside external contractors, ensuring performance targets, quality standards and value for money are consistently achieved. A core element of the role will be overseeing works linked to the implementation of Awaab’s Law, including ensuring hazards are identified, managed and resolved within required timescales. You will be responsible for managing operational performance, compliance, risk and continuous improvement across your areas of responsibility.

About The Team

The Responsive Repairs team is committed to delivering high quality, customer focused services that keep residents safe and their homes well maintained. We are a performance driven service that works collaboratively to respond to challenges, improve outcomes, and continuously raise standards. Our team culture is based on trust, openness, and shared responsibility. We value learning, encourage new ideas, and support one another to succeed. By recognising achievements and developing talent, we create a positive and engaging working environment where people feel empowered to make a difference.

About You

You will be an enthusiastic, solutions focused individual with a strong operational background and the ability to lead teams in a demanding environment. You will bring experience, confidence and a commitment to delivering safe, compliant, and high quality services for residents.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience working within a responsive repairs environment
  • Demonstrable ability to manage and deliver planned or specialist works to agreed standards, timescales, and budgets
  • Knowledge and experience of hazard management, compliance, and regulatory requirements, including Awaab’s Law
  • Experience managing and motivating in house trade teams and working effectively with external contractors
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to build high performing teams and drive a positive working culture
  • Experience monitoring performance, managing risk, and achieving value for money
  • A customer focused approach, with a commitment to improving outcomes, safety, and service delivery
