About Haringey: Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture. Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. Haringey’s people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents.
About The Role: We are looking for a committed and knowledgeable Electrical Manager to take charge of our electrical operations and ensure full compliance with industry standards and regulations. As the NICEIC Qualified Supervisor (QS), you will play a pivotal role in managing and directing electrical operatives and operational standards across all electrical works carried out by our teams, with a sharp focus on service quality, regulatory compliance, health & safety, cost control, and timely project delivery. This role demands a strong technical foundation, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to inspire and guide teams toward excellence. If you’re passionate about electrical safety, compliance, and team leadership, we’d love to hear from you.
About The Team: You’ll be joining a skilled and collaborative electrical team committed to delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality work across all projects. Our team values professionalism, continuous improvement, and mutual support, working closely to uphold industry standards and exceed expectations. With a strong focus on compliance and innovation, we foster an environment where expertise is shared and development is encouraged.
About You: You’re a qualified and experienced electrical professional with a strong understanding of current regulations and compliance standards. You hold relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, AM2, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, 2391 52 Inspection & Testing) and are registered or eligible to be registered as a NICEIC Qualified Supervisor. You have a proven track record in inspection, testing, and certification, with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality. Strong organisational & communication skills, leadership ability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential, along with the confidence to guide and support teams in delivering compliant electrical work. Ideally, you will have had previous experience in managing data and performance via KPIs and the ability to audit your teams as well as analyse and record data to be shared with senior colleagues. IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications, Asbestos risk awareness and experience in using job management systems such as Northgate/NEC, Total Mobile, would be desirable.
Working for Haringey: At Haringey Council we are committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included, and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits of a diverse workforce so welcome applications from all ethnicities and communities so that we continue to make a difference to our residents and community.
Benefits: Our benefits package includes a leave entitlement up to 31 days + bank holidays, potential hybrid working opportunities, health and well-being support, a generous local government pension scheme and a range of discount schemes across leisure and culture that provide both financial and money-saving discounts.
