Haringey Council is seeking a passionate and skilled Infrastructure Network Engineer to join our Digital and Change Business Unit within the Culture, Strategy and Engagement Directorate. About the Role

As an Infrastructure Network Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of our network infrastructure. You will work closely with the IT team to design, implement, and maintain network solutions that align with service and customer objectives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and acting as a stand-in for the Lead Network Engineer, motivating and developing the team to create and maintain a highly competent and engaged workforce.
  • Developing and maintaining network infrastructure, ensuring all tasks are delivered at high quality, on time, and provide excellent customer experience.
  • Working in an agile, collaborative environment to deploy, configure, and maintain network systems, including installations, updates, and core services.
  • Collaborating with other engineers to acquire new skills and learning on the network development process.
  • Supporting existing network services to troubleshoot issues and provide fixes as required.
  • Assisting in the system development lifecycle for a range of network solutions, with the ability to fault-find, fix, and enhance existing network infrastructures and provide ideas for improvements and optimization.
  • Representing and championing the Digital Team and the excellent work and outcomes it is delivering.

About You

We are looking for individuals who are excellent communicators with a solid understanding of network engineering and agile delivery techniques. Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize and clarify user stories.
  • Expert knowledge and experience developing and maintaining CISCO network infrastructures.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing network solutions with comprehensive documentation.
  • Solid experience using network configuration and management tools.
  • CCNA Qualified
  • An understanding of how new technologies might solve technical and business problems (cloud networking, serverless, scaling).
  • The ability to quickly research, learn, and apply new development tools and techniques.
