About The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and professional individual to join our busy Housing service on a nine-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you will undertake a comprehensive review of the Council's housing register, ensuring all household records are accurate, up to date, and compliant with the Council's Allocations Policy and housing legislation. You will assess applications, update records, and ensure all information is managed with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Alongside this, you will provide clear guidance to applicants, handling enquiries and correspondence efficiently across a variety of channels including telephone, email, written communication, interviews, and occasional home visits.

About The Team

You will be part of a dynamic Lettings and Rehousing service, working alongside experienced officers who are committed to delivering a high-quality, customer-focused housing service. The team plays a key role in managing housing allocations and supporting residents through the housing process, ensuring fairness, transparency, and compliance at all stages. This is a collaborative and supportive environment where teamwork, professionalism, and a shared commitment to excellent service are central to everything we do.

About You

We are looking for someone with proven experience in housing allocations, housing register management, or social housing services, along with strong administrative and customer service skills. You will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of customers and stakeholders. Strong IT skills are essential, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to use housing or case management systems. You will be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy. The role requires someone who can work both independently and as part of a team, using sound judgement to gather, analyse, and interpret information in line with Council policies and procedures.
