About The Role

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Hearthstone Advice & Support Officer to join Haringey's specialist domestic abuse service. In this vital role, you will deliver high‑quality, trauma‑informed, holistic support to individuals affected by domestic abuse, ensuring they receive a safe, confidential and welcoming environment to access help. You will manage a varied and often complex caseload, complete detailed risk assessments, develop tailored safety and support plans, and coordinate multi‑agency responses to meet both immediate and longer‑term needs. The role also involves helping residents navigate housing options, legal pathways, therapeutic services and practical safety measures, empowering them to move towards stability and long‑term recovery.

About The Team

The Hearthstone Domestic Abuse Service is Haringey's in-house specialist team within Housing Demand, providing practical, empowering and trauma‑informed support to residents who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse. You will join a passionate and skilled team of caseworkers, specialist officers and multi‑agency partners—including police, social care, health professionals and housing teams—who work collaboratively to ensure a coordinated, effective response for every client. The team fosters a supportive, reflective and inclusive environment, prioritising shared learning, emotional resilience, and high‑quality practice to improve outcomes for victim/survivors across the borough.

About You

We are seeking someone with proven experience of supporting survivors of domestic abuse, as this is essential for the role. You will bring strong assessment and case management skills, an empathetic and trauma‑informed approach, and the confidence to support individuals in crisis or facing complex circumstances. You will hold (or be working towards) an IDVA qualification or equivalent, and demonstrate a clear understanding of coercive control, safeguarding responsibilities, and relevant domestic abuse legislation. The role requires excellent communication, the ability to prioritise risk, maintain accurate records, and work collaboratively with a wide range of agencies. You should be resilient, organised and committed to empowering survivors to make informed decisions and rebuild their safety and independence.
