About the Role:
As a Compliance and System Support Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring procurement activity across the Council is compliant, efficient and supported by strong systems. Acting as the subject matter expert for the corporate e‑sourcing platform, you will manage system functionality, support users, deliver training and lead on system improvements. You will also monitor compliance with procurement regulations and internal policies, analyse data to identify trends and risks, and provide insightful reporting to support decision‑making and value for money outcomes. This is a varied role combining systems, data, compliance and stakeholder engagement, offering real scope to influence how procurement operates across the organisation.
About the Team:
You will join a forward‑thinking Strategic Procurement team within the Finance directorate, working alongside procurement professionals, finance colleagues, digital specialists and service areas across the Council. The team plays a critical role in driving value, compliance and innovation in how goods and services are sourced and managed. Collaboration is central to the team’s success, and you will work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure processes are effective, user‑friendly and aligned with organisational priorities.
About You:
You will have experience working with procurement or e‑sourcing systems, alongside a good understanding of procurement processes, regulations and compliance requirements. Analytical and detail‑focused, you are confident working with data, producing reports and identifying opportunities for improvement. You will also be an effective communicator, able to deliver training, support users and build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Organised and proactive, you can manage competing priorities and adapt in a fast‑paced environment, with a strong commitment to delivering high‑quality, compliant and efficient services.
