About The Role: We are looking for a proactive and organised Business Support Officer to help deliver high‑quality support to our Children’s Services teams. This role plays a vital part in ensuring frontline services run efficiently and effectively, enabling practitioners to focus on delivering the best outcomes for children and families. You will provide professional administrative and business support, ensuring work is completed accurately, on time and in line with corporate policies and service procedures. Working closely with colleagues across the service, you will help identify and respond to risks, issues, and opportunities to improve delivery. A key part of the role is championing continuous improvement – reviewing processes, suggesting efficiencies and supporting a “right first time” approach to maintain consistent, high‑quality service standards.
About You: We are looking for a capable and adaptable individual who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and takes pride in delivering excellent support. You will be a strong team player with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to public service.
You Will Bring:
- Proven experience in a business support or administrative role, ideally within a public sector or children’s services environment
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong minute‑taking skills, with the ability to capture accurate, clear and timely records of meetings
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with colleagues, stakeholders, and members of the public
- Experience of maintaining accurate manual and digital records and filing systems
- Confidence in preparing, collating, and presenting information, including basic data and reports
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and case management systems
- The ability to handle enquiries efficiently and escalates issues appropriately
