About Haringey

Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.

About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated and passionate team delivering outreach-based support across the borough. The role involves working with individuals with a wide range of needs, including those experiencing crisis, and requires flexibility to operate across different locations. You will be part of a fast‑paced and evolving service that is focused on delivering responsive, person‑centred support and advocacy to help individuals achieve greater safety and stability.

About The Team

Hearthstone Domestic Abuse Service is the in‑house specialist team within Haringey’s Housing Demand Service. We provide advice, support and advocacy to residents of the borough who are experiencing, or have experienced, domestic abuse. At the heart of the team’s work are strong values of collaboration, respect and integrity, with a shared commitment to empowering survivors and promoting their safety and independence. The team works closely together and in partnership with internal services and external agencies to provide a holistic offer, ensuring individuals can access legal remedies, counselling, housing advice and practical safety measures to remain safe and supported.

About You

We are looking for someone with strong experience in outreach support who brings a compassionate and empathetic approach to their work. You will be confident managing and prioritising a varied caseload in a demanding environment, while maintaining a trauma‑informed approach that recognises the impact of domestic abuse. The successful candidate will have the ability to support individuals facing multiple disadvantages, helping them to build confidence, improve self‑esteem and move towards sustaining safe and stable tenancies.

Working for Haringey

At Haringey Council we are committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included, and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits of a diverse workforce so welcome applications from all ethnicities and communities so that we continue to make a difference to our residents and community. Our benefits package includes a leave entitlement of 31 days + bank holidays, potential hybrid working opportunities, health and wellbeing support, a generous local government pension scheme and a range of discount schemes across leisure and culture that provide both financial and money‑saving discounts.
