About The Role
The Executive Office at the heart of the council works directly with the Chief Executive and six Executive Directors. We need an experienced Executive Assistant to support this busy office by managing diaries, coordinating meetings, responding to resident enquiries, and ensuring Directors make the best use of their time. The role also links Directors to the wider organisation and external stakeholders, including politicians, partners and key stakeholders.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage Directors’ diaries and coordinate all meetings.
- Handle enquiries from residents, councillors and external stakeholders.
- Ensure prompt response to resident and councillor enquiries.
- Serve as the liaison between Directors and internal/external parties.
- Assist with building and maintaining relationships with politicians, partners and key stakeholders.
- Support a team that works collaboratively with the Chief Executive’s office and business managers.
About The Team
You will work within the Chief Executive’s support office alongside the Executive Support Manager and three executive assistants. Collaboration with the Head of the Chief Executive’s office and three Business Managers supports the Council Leadership Team.
About You
Local authority experience at the Chief Executive/Director level is crucial. You should be highly organised, efficient, detail‑oriented, able to work under pressure, and a team player. Enthusiastic, motivated and able to communicate effectively are essential.
