The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 € per year.

We are looking for a calm, consistent and approachable person who remains effective under pressure. The successful candidate will lead by example with high-quality practice, demonstrate strong emotional intelligence when supporting staff and families, and be reliable and solution-focused. A deep understanding of the EYFS and child development is required, with the ability to model outstanding interactions with children and coach staff to improve practice. There will be a strong focus on children's wellbeing and learning outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent leadership and clear directions for the team, ensuring everyone understands expectations and feels supported in their role.
  • Maintain high standards of practice at all times, lead by example, and promote quality across all areas of provision.
  • Act as a trusted link between staff and management, communicate effectively, foster a culture of openness and respect, and take ownership and accountability for responsibilities.
  • Support a positive, solution-focused culture that encourages teamwork, resilience, and continuous improvement.
  • Confidently support the nursery manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery; be highly organized, dependable, and proactive with a clear understanding of daily operations.
  • Lead in the role of SENCO, supporting the individual needs of children and building strong relationships with parents and families.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum of level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development or an equivalent qualification.
  • Preferred further qualification in childcare, early years education or management.
  • Proven experience in a deputy manager role.
  • Confident experience in health and safety requirements, undertaking risk assessments and following policies and procedures.
  • Experience with young children; confident key person with solid knowledge of child development, the EYFS, individual learning styles, and how to support families through guidance, empathy and partnership working.
  • Inspiring role model to children and colleagues; effective team player who supports, reflects, and enhances practice both on the spot and through staff discussions.
  • Experience in leading planning and developing provocative learning activities for children.
  • Experience in leading support for children with SEND and Early Years Support Plans.
  • Experience supervising staff, undertaking appraisals, and managing personnel tasks to ensure staff health and wellbeing.
  • Strong literacy, communication and organizational skills; excellent IT skills to manage records and reporting systems; strong teamwork, initiative and forward thinking.
