Hariley Solutions are currently seeking an experienced Packaging Engineer to join our client's dynamic team in Telford. If you have a proven track record in Packaging and are looking for a new opportunity to excel in a fast-paced environment, this role could be the perfect fit for you!
Job Objectives
- Create a complete packaging strategy to reflect the needs of the business covering end to end value stream which includes all suppliers, sites and customers.
- Design and develop packaging solutions for new and existing products, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, handling needs and industry regulations and standards.

- Conduct feasibility studies and material selection processes to identify optimal packaging materials that meet performance and cost targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance to validate packaging designs through testing and prototyping.
- Lead projects to improve packaging efficiency and sustainability, analyzing lifecycle impacts and proposing innovative solutions.
- Lead projects to improve internal material handling systems in storage and part movement, analyzing cycle time impacts and proposing innovative and cost-effective solutions.
- Oversee the transition of packaging projects from concept through to production, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives within the packaging processes to enhance production efficiency and reduce waste.
- Provide technical guidance and support during the implementation of packaging machinery and equipment.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Set a good example of safe behaviour.
- Understand and implement the Health & Safety Policy, standards and legal requirements applying to operations under their control.
- Implement the site safety rules.
- Act upon becoming aware of an uncontrolled hazard and bring any unresolved issues to the attention of your manager.
- Promptly investigate all accidents and incidents and report findings to their immediate manager.
- Check that all plant, machinery, and equipment is safe to use and that all dangerous parts of machinery are adequately guarded and that daily machinery checks have been undertaken and recorded.
- Ensure that protective clothing and equipment is correctly used by all persons.
- Ensure that good housekeeping is maintained throughout their areas of responsibility.
- Check that appropriate action is taken in respect of all health & safety concerns reported.
- Liaise with Health, Safety and Environmental Champions where appointed in matters relating to health and safety.
- Carry out inspections as allocated in the site audit programme using the Health and Safety Toolkit, record that this has been done, act where you can and report any residual defects to the manager.
