As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in developing and delivering the site’s Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) program, helping to implement a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) approach across all equipment and systems. You will ensure machinery runs at optimum performance levels, reduce downtime, and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that support smooth, safe, and efficient manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Observe, recognize, and report on machinery or component defects or signs of impending failure, providing accurate data within the CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).
- Perform planned and preventative maintenance in line with agreed schedules.
- Diagnose faults and test, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Carry out autonomous breakdown and preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring all work is accurately recorded in the CMMS.
- Interpret and implement technical service instructions and equipment data.
- Ensure effective shift handovers, sharing key technical and operational information.
- Liaise with OEMs and suppliers for technical support and expedite parts as required.
- Lead shift-based problem-solving activities where corrective actions are not immediately clear.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement improvement opportunities to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Apply root cause analysis techniques such as 5 Whys and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) to drive sustainable corrective actions.
- Promote and participate in 5S workplace organization within engineering workshops and stores.
- Use CMMS data to support maintenance and reliability improvement initiatives.
- Record all parts used accurately in the CMMS stores system.
- Support TPM initiatives across the site to minimize waste and maximize value-adding activities.
Benefits & Terms
- Salary: £46,000 – £53,000 per annum (based on skills and experience)
- Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (rotating days and nights, 7:00 am – 7:00 pm / 7:00 pm – 7:00 am)
- Holidays: 23 days annual leave

- Overtime: Paid at 1.25x (time and a quarter) after 48 hours per week
