Production Planning Lead

Wednesbury | £35,000 + monthly bonuses | Permanent | Full-time

Hariley Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Planning Lead to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Wednesbury.

The business has been established for over 50 years and is continuing to grow, with a strong reputation for quality and a state-of-the-art machine shop.

This is a hands‑on production planning role, working closely with Production, Engineering, Quality and Purchasing to ensure jobs are planned effectively and production runs smoothly. The role is mainly office-based, with regular time on the shopfloor to monitor progress, identify issues and help keep production on track.

The Role

You will be responsible for planning and coordinating production requirements, ensuring materials, machinery, labour and time are available to meet customer requirements.

  • Planning production equipment, raw materials and labour requirements
  • Building BOMs and detailing materials required for production
  • Monitoring production progress and reporting on throughput
  • Identifying priority orders and planning accordingly
  • Working with Production and Management to resolve delays, shortages, breakdowns and quality issues
  • Working closely with Purchasing to anticipate raw material requirements
  • Facilitating meetings around contracts, production and process improvements
  • Identifying opportunities to improve production efficiency and reduce costs
  • Preparing and maintaining production paperwork in line with ISO 9001 procedures
  • Supporting other production planning and operational activities as required

About You

We’re looking for someone with strong production planning experience who is comfortable working in a busy manufacturing environment and enjoys being involved in the day‑to‑day running of production.

  • At least 5 years’ experience in production planning
  • Experience working within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and manage changing production requirements
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work across Production, Engineering, Quality and Purchasing
  • The confidence to build strong working relationships with operators and production teams
  • A practical approach to resolving problems and keeping production moving
  • Good attention to detail and experience working to quality procedures
  • The ability to work independently while also being part of a wider team

The Package

  • £35,000 salary
  • Monthly bonus scheme
  • Monday–Thursday: 7:00am–4:00pm
  • Friday: 8:00am–1:00pm
  • 39 hours per week
  • Permanent position
