The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Manual / Conventional Machinist to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing company on a permanent basis.
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working with XYZ Lathes and be confident producing components accurately from engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate manual/conventional lathes
- Operate XYZ Lathe machinery
- Machine components to required specifications and tolerances
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Use precision measuring equipment including verniers and micrometers
- Carry out quality checks on completed components
- Make adjustments to tooling and machinery when required
- Ensure all work is completed to the required quality standards
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a Manual Machinist, Conventional Machinist, Turner or Lathe Machinist
- XYZ Lathe experience would be highly advantageous
- Good knowledge of manual turning and machining processes
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Experience using precision measuring equipment
- Good understanding of machining tolerances
- A reliable and hardworking approach
