The Role
I’m currently recruiting for an Inbound Sales & Customer Service Advisor to join an established specialist supplier based in Brownhills. This is a genuine inbound sales role with no cold calling. You’ll be dealing with trade and retail customers across the UK, helping them identify and order spare parts, tools and technical products across areas including construction equipment, garden machinery and workshop equipment. The role is varied and involves understanding what the customer needs, identifying the correct product or replacement part, checking availability, preparing quotations and processing orders. Full product and systems training is provided, so you don’t need to have prior knowledge of the products. The key is having good customer service and communication skills, being confident on the phone and having the ability to learn technical information.
Key Responsibilities
- Handling a high volume of inbound customer calls and emails
- Helping customers identify the correct products and spare parts
- Processing orders and preparing quotations
- Checking stock, pricing and product information
- Sourcing less common products where required
- Following up customer enquiries
- Resolving customer queries and problems
- Building knowledge of the company's product ranges and brands
- Working closely with purchasing, warehouse and other internal teams
- Providing a professional and helpful service throughout the customer journey
What They’re Looking For
You could come from a customer service, internal sales, telephone sales, trade counter, parts, automotive, engineering, machinery or similar background. Product knowledge isn't essential as full training is provided, but you will need to be:
- Confident and natural on the telephone
- Customer-focused and able to understand what customers need
- Comfortable using computers and learning new systems
- Accurate when processing orders and information
- Able to learn technical products and specifications
- Organised and able to manage multiple enquiries
- Reliable and comfortable working in a busy team
Benefits
Once you move onto a permanent contract, the benefits include:
- 25 days' holiday + bank holidays
- Additional holiday for long service
- Private Bupa medical cover after six months
- Company pension
- Full product and systems training
- Monday to Friday working
- Free parking
- Company profit-related bonus scheme
- Potential progression into senior sales, technical, account management or supervisory positions
Temporary to Permanent
The company likes to initially introduce people on a temporary-to-permanent basis, with the recruitment agency covering your wages for the first 12 weeks. This gives both you and the company the opportunity to make sure the role is the right fit before moving onto a permanent contract. However, they will not rule out good candidates who are only interested in a permanent position, so if you're looking for a permanent role from day one, please still apply.
If you're interested in the position, please let me know and I can talk you through the role and next steps.
