Job Description:

Despatch Team Leader – Night Shift

An opportunity to join the SWEET life of Haribo as a Despatch Team Leader at our Castleford site.

Our Despatch team are critical to the smooth running of our operations. This is an opportunity to work as part of the despatch team to ensure our products are produced to a high standard ensuring compliance to Health and Safety, Quality and Hygiene standards at all times.

Hours of Work:

Sunday – Thursday 10pm-6am

Our mix that awaits you:

Performance – Work as part of a team to ensure the delivery of daily/ weekly production/packing targets. Activities will involve:

  • Ensure that all tasks are completed in line with Haribo’s Safe Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Operate all MHE inline with training
  • To control waste streams ensuring compliance
  • Ensuring all Despatch checks are completed in line with required schedule and are fully documented
  • Work planning and tracking all targets (using BDE and M3)
  • Checking on quality of products throughout the process to ensure it meets the required standard prior to leaving the site/department
  • Problem solving e.g. resolve and report on any downtime issues with support from Engineering

Manage Self and train colleagues to do their job well– Activities will involve:

  • Take personal responsibility for your own development, continuously learning and developing to enable you to set a good example
  • Driving continuous improvement
  • To be actively involved in 6S projects
  • Motivate colleagues and set a good example
  • Take part in Haribo Talks on an annual basis
  • Monitor & train Trainee Operators against company SOP’s

Regularly communicate information to others and support them where necessary to ensure the effective delivery of wider goals and targets as a team player. Activities will involve:

  • Liaising with colleagues in the other areas to ensure the smooth running throughout
  • Preparation and delivery of an effective handover to incoming shift
  • Liaising with supervisors/managers in the other areas to ensure the smooth running throughout
  • Promote and role model our HARIBO values
  • Identify what information is relevant to other departments and communicate it
  • Monitor and manage colleague performance effectively ensuring Specifications and Procedures are followed

  • Knowledge of Despatch processes is essential
  • Supervisory experience is desirable
  • Previous experience operating MHE is essential
  • Awareness of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene standards
  • Good level of verbal and written communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure
