We are on the hunt for a Despatch Operative to join our Despatch team at Pontefract. Our Despatch team are critical to the smooth running of our operations, providing comprehensive knowledge and technical skill. We\’re looking for a passionate operator with a Fork Lift License to come and join our team and have some fun along the way!

This Despatch Operative role is a permanent role at our Pontefract Site.

Hours of Work:

Alternating Shift – 40 hours – Blue Shift

Week 1: 06:00 – 14:00

Week 2: 13:55 – 21:55

Our mix that awaits you:

– Receiving and despatching deliveries

– Supervising loads going out e.g. to third party logistics

– To ensure targets are reached and a good turnaround of stock is achieved.

– Accurate replenishment of goods

– Adhering to truck safety on pre-shift checks

– The checking of raw materials on receipt

– Retrieving pallets from the Adpal machine and loading onto trailers

– The use of the BDE scanning system

– Movement of goods within the department

– Replenishment of pallets as required by departments

– The correct use of the compactor

– Unloading of raw materials

– Carrying out banksman duties as required

Ingredients that you bring with you:

– Previous warehouse/distribution experience is essential

– Previous experience in food mor wider manufacturing (Beneficial)

– Awareness / Knowledge of Health & Safety / Food Hygiene standards

– Good planning and organisational skills

– FLT licence (Counter/Reach/VR/PPT)

– Good communication skills both written and verbal

– Ability to work well as part of a team

– Reliable and supportive team player

– Ability to use initiative and work independently
