We are on the hunt for a Packing Engineering Team Leader to come and join our Alternating Engineering team based out of our Pontefract site. This role will be critical in ensuring efficient operation of the department during shifts as well as managing time between responding and planning maintenance and service activities. You will also be responsible for driving improvements within your area of operation and improving department readiness. Proficient machine operation is essential to achieve given targets, whilst maintaining Health & Safety, Hygiene and Quality standards.
How you’ll contribute to the mix:
- Responding quickly and effectively to all breakdowns
- Maintaining department standards, preparing colleagues for maintenance activities and keeping the workshop ready to service department
- Implementing and maintaining strategies to keep serviceable parts prepared
- Ensuring all activities are carried out in line with the standards expected in the food industry
- Carrying out project/installation work as requested
- Maintaining throughout the factory and offices
- Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with any Permit to Works, Job recording, fire alarm muting, Health & Safety and hygiene set system of work
- Monitoring and managing employee performance, ensuring specifications and procedures are followed accurately at all times
- Ensuring effective staffing levels are maintained with regard to start and finish times, break times, and ensuring consistency throughout shift
Ingredients that you bring with you:
- Previous experience in Food Manufacturing is essential
- A recognised Mechanical/ Electrical apprenticeship
- Awareness / Knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene standards
- Excellent level of communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal – with the ability to communicate well at all levels
- Ability to work individually, and as part of a team, is essential
- Experience of supervising a team is essential
- Have knowledge and experience in delivering detailed reports, combined with the ability to present the relevant information to all interested stakeholders
- Commitment to continuous improvement
- Strong project management skills
