A vacancy has arisen within our team at Drax Power Station for a Multi-Functional Operator to support our site Barlow Reclaim operations. Hargreaves Industrial Services provide a varied Operations and Maintenance service to our client at Drax Power Station. We handle, maintain and reclaim materials including FBA, Coal and Mitigant Slurry whilst managing material stocks and transportation using a wide range of Mobile Plant.

The role briefly encompasses the following:

  • Ensuring that the required supply of material to the station is maintained and that the housekeeping and stock management of the Mitigant plant areas is carried out in accordance with the Hargreaves contractual requirements.
  • Operating Front end loaders to load the screener and ADT’s with product as per the requirements of the power station.
  • Operating the ADT to transport product to the production areas as per the requirements of the power station.
  • Operating the Dozer to reclaim PFA.
  • Operating the Screener to size the product ready for further processing.
  • Carrying out any other reasonable instruction required to ensure the smooth operation of the site as directed by the supervisor.
  • Promoting and maintaining a positive attitude towards safety, compliant with Hargreaves and Drax’s safety rules.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/attributes:

  • A positive attitude towards safety.
  • Hold a full UK driving license.
  • Strong team working and communication skills.
  • ECITB or EMSS safety passport or equivalent.
  • Manual handling training.
  • COSHH awareness training.
  • Materials handling operations experience.
  • Competent within HIS and Drax Power safety & Golden rules.
  • Flexible approach to work and punctual.
  • Tolerant of diverse working situations & conditions.
  • Screening operations training.
  • FEL Training.
  • ADT Training.
  • Ability to work well independently and with minimum supervision.

Due to the health and safety risks associated with this working environment, all individuals must comply with face fitted dust mask rules. In order to do so individuals must be clean shaven at all times when on site.

Hours of Work: 4 days on – 4 days off shift pattern with call out rota.
