About the Role: The Field Sales Executive - Aggregates role has been created as part of the Minerals Division restructure to strengthen commercial capability and support sustained growth. Reporting to the Head of Aggregates, this position is responsible for driving sales activity, developing customer relationships, and supporting volume growth across the aggregates portfolio. A key focus of the role is contributing to the planned increase in sales volumes, particularly within recycled aggregates, and maximising opportunities arising from a growing project pipeline. The position plays a vital part in aligning commercial activity with market demand and divisional strategy, ensuring the business is positioned for profitable, sustainable growth. This role has a direct impact on the day‑to‑day commercial performance of the Minerals Division within the North East region. It carries responsibility for servicing and retaining a major customer account, ensuring agreed sales volumes, service levels, and customer satisfaction are consistently achieved. The role is regionally focused, with regular customer visits and part‑week office presence in Middlesbrough.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Managing and servicing a key aggregates customer account on a day‑to‑day basis
- Achieving agreed regional sales volumes and service KPIs
- Processing and coordinating customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Working closely with logistics and operations teams to ensure reliable supply
- Identifying incremental sales opportunities within existing accounts
- Supporting the development of new customer leads where appropriate
- Building and maintaining strong, professional customer relationships
- Participating in office‑based collaboration and account planning in Middlesbrough
- Applying technical knowledge of aggregates products, including Series 600 and Series 800 specifications
- Using understanding of local material availability and sourcing locations to support customer needs
- Managing your own diary, workload, and priorities across site visits, customer engagement, and administrative tasks
- Applying practical understanding of logistics, haulage constraints, and delivery planning

- Experience within aggregates merchanting or aggregates sales
- Strong technical understanding of aggregates products and applications
- Working knowledge of Series 600 and Series 800 specifications
- Knowledge of local material availability and sourcing points within the North East
- Proven customer service skills, ideally with experience supporting key accounts
- Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities
- Ability to manage workload, priorities, and diary independently
- Practical understanding of logistics, haulage, and delivery operations
- Willingness to work part‑week from the Middlesbrough office to support collaboration
