About the role
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Strategy Partner to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Client Officer to help shape and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the Client area, driving both strategic growth and commercial success. You will support the process to track HL's progress in the market and horizon scan emerging trends to deliver competitor and market intelligence to inform HL's client business and investment priorities.
What you'll be doing:
- Support the Strategy team's work in the development of and continual evolution of a comprehensive, inclusive strategic plan and growth strategy; this role will take the lead in working closely with the Chief Client Officer and his SLT to drive forward their part of the overall plan.
- Support the continuous monitoring and analysis of market trends, macroeconomic factors, market share changes, government regulation, strategic risks and competitive landscapes in the investment space, providing insights and recommendations to the Client Team around strategy evolution to keep HL at the forefront of the market.
- Support the Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Client Officer in running the annual strategy process to provide both a clear articulation of strategic progress over the preceding 12 months and rolling HL's strategic plans forward a further year to build a rolling 3-year plan that ensures delivery of its overarching strategic goals.
- Support the Client function to ensure the annual operating plan, organic/in-organic development and budget process delivers a plan that is aligned to the overall strategic plan and will materially help the Client function move towards its longer-term strategic goals.
- Support the Chief Client Officer in the preparation of Board and ExCo materials.
- Support the development of the annual Chief Client Officer OKRs and the Client function SLT OKRs and its monthly reporting.
- Support the preparation of the Quarterly Business Review (QBRs) for the Client function.
- Drive and support specific strategic transformation/innovation projects at the inception and elaboration phase for the Client function.
- Proactively engage and collaborate with key stakeholders across the Client function and broader HL to ensure alignment of deliverables and a joined-up approach; particularly across Digital, Operations, Finance and Risk.
- Provide support to the strategy capability across HL, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting knowledge sharing and cross-functional cooperation.
About you:
- Experience of supporting the development of strategic plans across an investment platform organisation.
- Strong commercial awareness and astuteness.
- Strong relationship builder with the ability to find common ground, build consensus and strengthen collaboration amongst diverse stakeholders.
- Creative thinker and influential collaborator.
- Excellent attention to detail, with an equally good understanding of the big picture applying a curious mindset.
- Ability to juggle competing priorities across a broad and fast-paced environment.
- Good knowledge of financial services and investment products is preferred; prior knowledge of HL would be an asset.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to synthesise complex information in an engaging and simplistic way.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong PowerPoint skills would be an asset.
Interview process: This will entail a 2-stage interview process including a presentation and psychometric assessment.
Working Schedule: This role is based in Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is a permanent role, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We have returned to the office, however for this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern with 2-3 days a week in the office.
