About the role

Hargreaves Lansdown’s website is a core part of our digital platform, providing information on our services, the stock market, news, and education. We are migrating to a new headless CMS (Contentful) and are looking to accelerate this, building services for personalized client experiences across devices and channels.

We are seeking a talented senior full-stack engineer (React/TypeScript/Next.js/Node.js) passionate about delivering market-leading digital experiences to join our team in Bristol. Join us in transforming the investing experience through advanced personalization across client journeys.

Role Responsibilities:

• Build and run full-stack web applications with TypeScript, Next.js, Node.js, React.
• Develop and maintain design component library from Figma designs.
• Plan and establish automated tests for changes.
• Write high-quality, secure, performant code.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality digital client journeys.
• Improve release and deployment strategies (CI/CD, gitops, policy).
• Contribute to architectural planning, considering trade-offs.
• Learn and adopt new technologies and techniques.
• Build strong relationships within the team and across HL.
• Participate in working groups and communities of practice.
• Continuously develop technical and interpersonal skills.
• Support existing applications proactively.
• Mentor and coach peers.

Experience:

• Developing client and server-side web applications using technologies like AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Lambdas, TypeScript, Next.js, Node.js, React.
• Working with Contentful CMS, developing content models, interfacing with APIs.
• Maintaining infrastructure as code.
• Using testing tools like Jest, Playwright.
• Understanding Microservices and RESTful API principles.
• Conducting code reviews and pursuing learning opportunities.
• Working within Agile frameworks.
• Embracing DevOps culture.

Knowledge:

• HTML/CSS (Tailwind/SCSS), JavaScript, Typescript.
• React, Next.js, Node.js at a senior level.
• Git (GitLab) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Website performance and non-functional requirements.
• Web accessibility.
• Documentation practices like runbooks, ADRs.
• Development practices for rapid delivery.

Desirable:

• Experience with MarTech solutions (Analytics, A/B Testing, Personalisation, Tag Management).
• Using Netlify for deploying Next.js applications.
