About the role: As Senior Client Risk Manager, you will be leading a team of Client Risk Managers and Analysts, coaching and mentoring the team and organising workloads and activity. The role involves working with the leaders across our Client business area to embed risk and control activity, as well as championing a risk culture within the function. You will also be responsible for operationalising the risk maturity program and driving compliance with relevant policies and standards, working closely with 2- and 3-Line functions to align wider risk and control activity.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading a team of individuals to deliver the risk maturity programme of work, along with embedding a culture of risk-based decision making to enhance business performance.
  • Embedding frameworks to support the development of robust risk and control management practices.
  • Organising regular and routine RCSA activity, including continual development of RCSA quality.
  • Evolving strategy and tooling to capture and track remediation activity including regulatory initiatives.
  • Working with peers, Head of Client Risk & Controls and 1GRC teams to ensure risk events are being managed appropriately within Client, including adherence to SLAs and root cause analysis provision.
  • Shaping the alignment of key activities with required controls across Client.
  • Embedding initiatives to continually enhance Risk Culture through all activity.
  • Embedding compliance risk standards and governance within Client function and escalate any issues or incidents to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Working with the Risk, Compliance Monitoring and Internal Audit Teams to facilitate the audit and review process for Client, working collaboratively across Operations and Digital risk teams to ensure consistency where required.
  • Enhancing reporting, including risk profiling as part of Client risk and controls developments.
  • Organising the maintenance of the relevant L2 risk appetite metrics, ensuring efficient sourcing of data and commentary for reporting and working with team for committee/MI production.

About you: Substantial experience in risk and control management, preferably in the financial services sector. Knowledge of enterprise risk management, frameworks and regulations. Excellent leadership skills and focus on the greater good. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to use data and insights to drive change and improvement. Highly organised and able to prioritise and manage the workload for self and others. Proactive, resourceful and able to use initiative. Strong commitment and drive, and demonstrable enthusiasm for risks and controls. Confident and able to see the big picture. Reporting and presentation skills, and ability to use various tools and systems. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Interview process: The interview process will include two stages with technical and leadership-based questions and a task.

Salary: Up to £90,000 depending on experience.

Working schedule: This is a full time, permanent role working 37.5 hours per week. Hybrid working is available, with a minimum of two days required in the office per week. Our office is based in central Bristol, BS1 5HL.
