We are looking for a Senior Experience Designer on an 8 month FTC to craft end-to-end design solutions that blend strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. Working across multiple squads and products, you\’ll be a cross-functional, full-stack designer who brings vision to life through scalable systems and innovative, user-centric experiences.

In this role, you\’ll independently lead large, complex design challenges—shaping product and service experiences that deliver measurable value. By aligning user needs with business goals, you\’ll influence direction, improve outcomes, and contribute directly to organisational success.

You\’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders, embedding design as a core lever for transformation and innovation. Drawing on your expertise across UX, UI, content, research, and service design, you\’ll elevate the quality, accessibility, and impact of design while validating solutions through testing and iteration.

As an experienced Designer within the team, you\’ll drive knowledge sharing, champion best practices, and support governance standards. You\’ll also mentor peers and junior designers—contributing to a high-performing, inclusive design culture that thrives on continuous growth and shared success. Hargreaves Lansdown is going through an exciting period of change, and Design and Research sits at the core of the biggest digital transformation the company has gone through — and we\’re reinventing ourselves to match the ambition. Our focus is simple: create seamless end-to-end experiences, powered by insight, that put our clients at the centre.

We\’re building a future-fit team of full-stack designers and researchers accountable for crafting intuitive, cohesive journeys, shaping strategy through evidence, bringing clarity to complexity, and championing real user needs. Overhauling our ways of working to drive greater efficiency, raise the effectiveness of what we deliver and enable opportunity for development and growth. Energised by a shared mission to unlock our collective potential and set a new standard for what design and research can achieve bringing our future vision to life.

What you\’ll be doing

  • Leading experience design across multiple projects, crafting holistic design solutions that integrate UX, UI, content, and service design layers
  • Creating detailed user flows, prototypes, high-fidelity UIs, and test plans that align to the experience design strategy and vision
  • Designing inclusive, accessible interfaces for end-to-end experiences across responsive web and native platforms
  • Writing and testing UX copy, content flows, and microinteractions
  • Collaborating with product managers and engineers for QA and implementation support
  • Innovating with new features that enhance the client experience, reflecting industry best practice and latest trends
  • Presenting designs through storytelling, advocating a client-first mindset to senior stakeholders and influencing high-level decisions
  • Partnering with researchers and product leads to analyse user feedback and metrics, validate and iterate solutions to inform design direction
  • Setting the bar for design standards across the team, embedding best practices, user-centred thinking and empathy
  • Mentoring junior researchers and contribute to team capability development and shaping the team culture

About you

  • Demonstrable experience in Product/UX/UI/Content design with a strong portfolio of impactful work across industries, products, or platforms
  • Experienced with end-to-end design, interaction modeling, microcopy, and visual design
  • Strong attention to detail and user empathy balanced with business and technical feasibility
  • Good understanding of usability, accessibility, user psychology, and performance metrics
  • Experience collaborating with and influencing C-suite or senior leadership
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and storytelling skills
  • Experience mentoring and nurturing a team of designers and contributing to team development
  • Fluent in Figma, prototyping tools, design systems and analytics
  • Degree in Product Design, UX/UI Design or related field
  • Experience working in enterprise or multi-platform (web, mobile, service) environments
