About the role
We are looking for a Principal Data Modeller to define and own the enterprise data model at Hargreaves Lansdown. This is a high impact role responsible for bringing consistency, structure and trust to how data is used across the organisation. You will act as the design authority, ensuring data is scalable, governed and aligned to business outcomes.
Role Responsibilities
- Define and maintain enterprise and domain level data models.
- Translate complex business concepts into clear, reusable data structures.
- Set modelling standards and act as the design authority across teams.
- Resolve inconsistency and drive alignment across key data concepts.
- Ensure models support reporting, analytics and future use cases.
- Support regulatory, governance and audit requirements through strong design.
Experience
- Significant experience in data modelling or data architecture.
- Experience operating at enterprise scale within complex environments.
- Proven ownership of core data models used across multiple domains.
- Strong SQL capability and experience with cloud data platforms.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive decisions.
Knowledge
- Strong understanding of data modelling approaches and standards.
- Experience defining shared entities, metrics and structures.
- Understanding of governance, lineage and regulatory requirements.
- Experience supporting multiple data consumption use cases.
- Experience in financial services.
- Experience with Snowflake or similar.
