The Platform Manager delivers the cloud platform strategy, ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions. This role leads platform design, automation, and governance, manages the engineering team, and drives innovation through public cloud services to meet evolving HL needs.

What you will be doing

  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of the cloud platform, ensuring it meets performance, scalability, reliability, and compliance standards.
  • Manage and develop the cloud platform engineering team, fostering cross-functional collaboration and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure the platform aligns with customers' business requirements, technical constraints, and evolving needs through proactive engagement with stakeholders.
  • Develop and optimize provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes using Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices.
  • Implement centralized management, monitoring, and governance capabilities to maintain visibility, security, and control across customer cloud environments.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging public cloud services and technologies, incorporating them into the platform to enhance value and maintain competitive advantage.

  • Extensive experience in cloud platform engineering and operations, with deep knowledge of cloud-native architectures and best practices.
  • Strong technical expertise in public cloud services and ability to translate business requirements into robust, scalable cloud solutions.
  • Proven ability to build, lead, and motivate high-performing, cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical skills to navigate complex technical and organizational challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with customer-facing teams and align platform capabilities with business needs.

Interview process

The interview process for this role consists of three stages, including a task/presentation element.

Working Schedule

This role is based in Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We have returned to the office; however, for this role, we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern.
