About the role

The Data Management Analyst’s role is to support the organisation in managing and improving the understanding, quality and governance of its data. This includes working with data custodians, stewards and owners to embed good data practices, and performing analysis to understand the origination, definition, lineage, ownership and quality of critical data.

What you will be doing:

  • Data Discovery: Identify, classify, define and secure ownership for critical data elements used in data products, reporting and core operational processes.
  • Data Cataloging: Maintain and enrich metadata for critical data elements, including definitions, ownership assignments, lineage mapping, alert configuration and review cycles.
  • Data Quality Measure & Monitor: Define, implement and monitor data quality rules, highlighting exceptions with appropriate alerting to support timely remediation.
  • Data Remediation: Partner with business teams to investigate and resolve data issues through stakeholder management, root cause analysis, remediation tracking and solution design.
  • Data Domain Support: Collaborate with Data Leaders, Owners, Stewards and Custodians to provide insights, support governance review cycles and drive improvement action plans.
  • Data Governance Operations: Support the maintenance and evolution of the Data Ownership Framework, ensuring that roles, responsibilities and standards remain current and effective.

About you:

  • Ability to develop cooperative and constructive working relationships.
  • Experience in data governance, data management and data quality.
  • Experience of business and technology issues related to the management of enterprise information and data assets.
  • Expert in translating complex to simple and data storytelling through packs, papers and business engagement.
  • Previous experience using Excel is key for your day-to-day responsibilities.

Desirable:

  • Expert in being able to analyse and simplify multiple aspects of the business data processes and use of dedicated tooling.
  • Experience using data management tools e.g. Informatica, Collibra, Precisely.
  • Technical competency in writing SQL using platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks is desirable.

Interview process:

The interview process for this role is two stages including technical competency-based questions and a scenario task.

Working Schedule:

This role is based in Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We have returned to the office 3 days a week.
