A vacancy has arisen for a Hopper Loading Operative to join our team within our new Operations and cleaning of a Biomass handling & storage facility contract at the Port of Tyne.
The Hopper Loading Operative role exists to complete the loading of road tipper wagons via the operation of the Port of Tyne quayside hoppers, working times will be dependent on vessel schedule.
Hargreaves Industrial Services provide an operation and cleaning service to our client at the Port of Tyne Biomass handling facility. We are responsible for the safe movements and handling of Biomass following discharge from vessels and the dispatch of loaded rail wagons within the Port.
The role briefly encompasses the following duties:
- Loading of road tipper wagons with Biomass material as it is offloaded into the quayside hopper from each vessel.
- Investigating and remediating any jams or blockages to ensure continuous material movements.
- Material spillages associated with the loading process to be cleaned up in a timely manner.
- Understanding of Safe Working Procedures.
- Attend any meetings or training sessions as required.
The ideal candidate will be a good communicator and must have a good understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace. The successful candidate will also be required to support secondary roles within the operation - examples below (training will be provided):
- Industrial cleaning of Biomass storage and operational areas.
- Train watchman.
- Biomass material condition monitoring.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience/attributes:
- IOSHH working safely (Min standard - training given).
- Experience of industrial cleaning within a materials handling environment.
- Previous experience working within a Biomass handling environment (Desirable).
- IPAF licence (Desirable).
- Experience with using fixed and portable vacuum systems.
- COMPEX training desirable; however, training will be available.
