A vacancy has arisen for an Electrical MFO, responsible for the effective examination, testing, installation and maintenance of all electrical equipment, to join our team within our Port of Tyne contract. Hargreaves Industrial Services provide a varied Operations, Maintenance and Industrial cleaning service to our client at the Port of Tyne Biomass handling facility.
We are responsible for the day to day maintenance and operations of a material handling system consisting of traditional and Air glide conveyors including a number of transfer towers and three 25,000 ton storage silos which transfers Biomass wood pellets from vessel to a rail loading facility with which we also maintain and operate sending the Biomass material via rail to Lynemouth power station. The site is also supported on a day to day basis with our industrial cleaning team ensuring a very strict cleaning regime is adhered to at all times.
The role briefly encompasses the following duties:
- Ensuring Job cards are suitable for the work to be carried out under the Work Order Card and associated Risk Assessment and Method Statement (undertake electrical isolations as required).
- Liaise daily with the Electrical supervisor/ Management team.
- Raising and closing out of all defects.
- Carry out maintenance and repairs on all Electrical/Instrumentation equipment.
- Carry out Planned Maintenance as per Operation Manual Schedules.
- Installation of Electrical Apparatus.
- P.A.T. Testing of portable appliances (training can be provided).
- Ability to carry out fault finding of electrical systems.
- Operate site Vehicles and complete relevant documentation.
- Operate Workshop Equipment and tools as required and complete relevant documentation.
- Carry out Examinations and Inspections of all Electrical/Instrumentation equipment.
- Continually look for ways to improve service.
- Communication with Electrical Supervisor/Management team regarding any incidents.
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills/experience/attributes:
- Time served Apprenticeship/Equivalent and a minimum of 2 years' experience.
- Understanding of 17th /18th edition of electrical installations Reg's.
- Experience of fault diagnostics & repair solutions.
- COMPEX certificate (desirable but training can be given).
- IOSH Managing safety (Desirable, but training can be given).
- Risk assessment training.
- Manual handling training.
- COSHH awareness training.
- Flexible approach to work which involves shift working and unsocial hours of work.
- Positive attitude to safety.
Training will be provided for the right candidate.
